The assault Weapons Ban that was enacted 10 years ago to prevent gun nuts and other dangerous people from using assault weapons such as TECH-9's and Uzis has been allowed to expired. For this I blame George W. Bush and other Conservative Republicans for just letting it happen.
And this is after Dubya said he would not let it expire. How dumb!!
For starters, while the Assault Weapons Ban was in effect, it protected the streets of America from drive-by shootings and innocent people getting caught in the crossfire by dangerous drug dealers and drug lords. Now since the ban was expired the fear that most police departments and law-abiding citizens it is a free-for-all for those people who are obsessed by holding a gun in their hands. These gun nuts will continue getting more and more guns until they decide they want to get their hands on a bomb.
From our "compassionate conservative president" it seems that he does not give a damn about the people or any cop on the street. If Bush had cared more about Homeland Security instead of shortchanging it constantly,would he notice that assault weapons is an important issue for the safety and security of the nation?
It can be obvious that Bush and his fellow conservatives is in the pocket of the NRA . Some of those with politically connected to the Republicans using the Second Admendment card whining and complaining that the ban is an infringement on their rights to bear arms. According to some sources that I have read majority of Americans still want the ban in effect. So what happened on that promise to not let the ban expire? I guess that fell on deaf ears when Bush allowed it to expire. I guess Bush protects just the millionaires, billonaires, gun nuts and psychopaths from taking their guns from their cold dead hands. I look forward of hearing more deaths of innocent people killed by these dangerous weapons. And the crime rate going though the roof after 10 good years of peace.
