On December 1st 1955, a middle aged woman coming home from work as a seamstress in Montgomery, Alabama. She had borded a bus as part of her daily routine getting from her work to her home. Because of segegation and because of this woman was black she was forced to pay her bus fare and walk quickly to the back of the bus to enter the bus and sit in the back of the bus. Or risk the bus leaving her. On this night this lady decided enough is enough. Since she was very tired of having to accomodate for a vain law due to skin color she decided to defy this law. This is what Mrs. Rosa Parks did on that historic day. That act of defiance Mrs. Parks started a movement led by a young minister named Martin Luther King, Jr. Mrs. Parks have held her place in history in changing African- American's lives to be included in the American citizenry as just fellow Americans not second class citizens. Her actions just does not involve Afro- Americans but all Americans in accepting our diversity. Recently about a month and half ago Mrs. Parks have passed away at 92 years old. Her funeral at the time of her death was well recived and commerated by all . We should honor her in her memories a brave woman that her defiance has broken all barriers set upon us .
Thank You Mrs. Rosa Parks. May You Rest In Peace
(1913-2005)
