I'm sorry that I haven't been back to update of whats going on in the past month. Everything kept me busy during the Holiday season. Even I was busy with my life I did keep up with the news. From The Godfather of Soul, Mr. Soul Brother number One, James Brown (R.I.P) passing to Chimpy's little "surge"in Iraq and the Democrats taking over the House and Senate chambers, things have turned for the better (almost). The first thing I want to talk about the Dems taking over Congress. Its good that the Dems have take over the Congress to rein in the Bush Crime Family even with some resistance. What also good is that we have for the first time in US history that a woman is the speaker of the House. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from California has stated her "100 hour" strategy to raise minium wage, reform ethics and improve the lives of working class Americans. She and the House did just that in short of 13 hours. Most of these still have to get through the Senate but I think it will pass. On the issue of Impeachment however, is another story. I hear and read alot other liberal blogs and on Liberal Radio that Pelosi and the Democrats are letting the impeachment of the Bushes "off the table" Of course some liberals were complaing to whining about this. It seem to some of them that not going to impeach BushCo. was the wrong thing to do. Some were enraged that it was a waste of their vote by the that statement of putting impeachment off the table. On that note if we didn't vote for the dems' or didn't care for some type of change in leadership in the Congress then, we liberals (or some of us) will still be griping and bitching about the Republicans and how come the Democrats can't do this or that because they limited in power as the minority party. Look, I understand how you feel about this. I was little angry when Pelosi said "impeachment is off the table" but, realized and Randi Rhodes have pointed out to all of us, If Pelosi said we're going to impeach the President and Cheney, the press would have followed up "Of what charge? and she had no answer for it , Fox News and the Republican slime machine and wingnuts would've had a field day ripping the Dems. " Crazy Dems want to impeach Bush of nothing" would have been the headline on the New York Post. And we would lose badly in midterm elections. Pelosi was smart to say that impeachment wasn't the issue now. This let Chimpy and cronies do what they want while we investigate and catch him in the act. As far as getting the impeachment on the table it would would take along as two years to draw up the charges and trial while it slows down the goverment and not get our troops out of Iraq. Let's remember that in the Clinton impeachment trial it took a year and a half for that impeachment to happen and Clinton still remained as president after all the trumped up charges used against him. I am not saying that we should push our Congressmen and Senators for impeachment but look at the reality it would take as long as two years while we should focus on getting our troops out the mess of a war in Iraq. And with the Scooter Libby trial going on it may be sooner the MoronMonkeyBoy may be forced to resign from office and Darth Cheney too.
About the little "surge" that Chimpy have planned out to "win" in Iraq have gone bad for him. All the Dems, Some Republicans and the Generals on the Ground have gone against him. Making Chimpy all alone and isolated and bitchy about the people not with him. Let realize that this little "surge" here would kill more troops. Of course Chimpy and the Republican scream machine stated if you don't like our little "surge" why don't come up with a differnt plan. The Dems (led by John Murtha) and others did have many plans to get out of Iraq, redeployment, a phased withdrawl and all other ideas. Did Bushco listen to them? No. Just useless retoric and losing a bitter argument by Bushco.
Well good to be back!
À bientot,amis
