YES WE DID!!!!
On November 4th 2008 Barack Obama has been elected as the first Black president in the U.S.
After 8 years of rampant incompentce and suffering the worst presidental adminatrations in history a new day has dawn in America. Whew!! it can't happen any sooner. Now that Obama will be the new president he has a big task ahead of him:to clean up the great big mess that Bush has left for us. An economy that is in the toliet, two wars with no end, and a whole lot of problems that can be desribed as "total ass backwardness" It won't be so easy for Obama but I expect that he will amaze us in solving these problems. Both candidates ran a good campaign execpt the fact that John McCain's campaign for president has shown the worst in America with Sarah Palin as his VP running mate. The Obama/Biden ticket was one of the most inspiring campaigns that I have seen. I like the fact that Obama reenforced inclusiveness in his campaign for President. His message that all of us in this country are in this together and we have more in common than what separates us. I really like how his campaign style made the most conservative of people to the most liberal of people gravitate towards him. Years from now history will look upon future President Obama and the change he has made not in America but in the world.
As for the Republicans , they would have to find themselves and ask who they are. Do they want to associate with the far right,"Christian" base of the party or look for ways to appeal to many people of color. It is obious that all the attacks thrown at Obama was nothing but right wing fear of a Black President and Americans finally for once uniting together than dividing us with pointless predjudices of small minority .
Finally Dr. King's dream has come true. We judged a person not by his color of his skin but by his content of his character.
It's now nice that the world will like us again!
