Just some of my thoughts of yesterdays issues before I confront the issues of today.
Beck-a-palooza?
Glenn Beck and his clod held his "Restoring Honor" rally on Saturday I wonder what honor that our country has lost. Glenn Beck may have had his day with his people. Beck may want to emulate Dr. Martin Luther King; he is certainly not like him. The media estimates the crowds at the rally from as low as 87,000 to as high as to 500,000 people. That's way too many idiots gathering in one place. It was posed as a "non-political" rally and attendees were urged to not bring their signs but it was purely a political event. The Queen of the Morons Sarah Palin was there speaking as "mom" with a son in the service. She didn't say anything useful. The most surprising was Dr. King's niece Alveta King speaking at the event. I wonder why she would associate with people like Glenn Beck and Palin. Overall, Beck's speech was a sermon. It's very strange that by his "sermon" Beck sounding and acting like a televangelist. The main point of his speech was that the country was forgetting God and need to go back to him with some jabs of Obama. Most were confused of the purpose of his rally. It was really a moron fest. What have this rally accomplished? Can anyone tell me? This was a very nice example of a grand self delusion of grandeur by Beck. This event is a response to Beck narcissism and him becoming a megalomaniac. He tries to espouse the ideas of Dr. King but he doesn't believe in them. Dr. King unlike Beck believed in the ideals he shared with the masses. He talked the talked and walked the walk. Dr. King's March on Washington and his "I Have a Dream" speech actually did something to change this country. In the following year after the March on Washington, and I Have a Dream we have the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with other laws. If it wasn't for people like Dr. King, Malcolm X and others and their tireless efforts we wouldn't have a President Barack Obama today.
Glenn Beck is a fraud, charlatan and a thief. He cannot hold a candle to Dr. King. All he cares about just himself and duping you to believe that he is something great. He doesn't believe what he speaks about. The "9-12 movement", with its 9 principles and 12 values is something he made up for you to believe in him in some way. Guys like him will always prey upon you. They will tell you what you want to hear. Appeal to your insecurities and will always use you for his purposes. At the same time you, not knowing any better will sell your soul for him and wind up on the short end of the stick. This "Restoring Honor" rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on the day, 47 years ago a very poignant and profound moment in American history have occurred has turned into a sick travesty. Glenn Beck may be free to do his event under our Constitution but make mockery of the Civil Rights movement and what Dr. King has stood knowing that Beck's colleagues would demonize Dr. King as a "communist" is sacrilegious.
We would have to see something; anything could come from this bullshit of a rally.
